Hi all!

This kickstarter's rewards were all fulfilled in March 2023 BUT there is one last stretch goal bonus that I owe you. The wait for it is officially over. Thanks for your patience!

SOME SPELLS ARE FOREVER is a Cast Your Own Spell inspired by the graphic novel series, Mary Shelley's School for Monsters. A Cast Your Own Spell is an interactive story. The story allows the reader to become a monster, choose paths, solve riddles, and cast spells. Some Spells are Forever is the first Cast Your Own Spell story. 

Some Spells are Forever is a lo-fi interactive story created on google forms. It's a storytelling/game format I discovered during the lockdown with my kids. A few libraries were posting them. We really enjoyed them. My hope is to take this interactive story and expand it in the future so stay tuned! 

If you enjoy Choose Your Own Adventures or the Oregon Trail, I believe you wil dig a Cast Your Own Spell story.

Just Over a Day Left to Get the Hardcover Graphic Novel/Upcoming Library Workshops

Hi lovely backers,

I wanted to do a check in about two things - the hardcover graphic novel and upcoming free comics workshops.

Over at the La Llorona in the Machine graphic novel campaign, we've unlocked so many great bonuses for backers, including a School Crest hologram sticker, a La Llorona Vinyl bookplate, a pdf of the script and process art, a copy of Forever Home, and so much more.

We are handing out free anthologies, Origins comics and more. So, if you have a middle grade or YA reader, sign them up! The workshops are free! Reach out to the library and reserve your spot. Remember that your support of the Origins campaign and the current La Llorona in the Machine campaign allow us to do these cool events.

We are celebrating!

All physical rewards are in the mail! You should be getting them very soon. 

All digital rewards just went out through Backerkit with the exception of Some Spells are Forever interactive story/game which will be sent in June. 

Giving Back:

The Planet:

Some of you may know this but I am a climate change activist and am very active in those types of programs. I am specifically focused on soil regeneration, plants, trees, and plastic waste reduction. So, for every comic or book purchased through Wicked Tree Press, we donate 50 cents to a local organization that focuses on that type or work. For this Kickstarter, that organization is Tree People. We are donating $125 for this Kickstarter. I also went out and collected eight saplings from Tree People to plant with the local elementary school. 

YOUTH WRITING WORKSHOPS:

Thanks to our backers of the two tiers that related to providing comics for youth workshops, I will be able to give out Mary Shelley comics at my Los Angeles Public Library summer series. More details to come but we are already in the process of organizing them. A very special shoutout to Wannabe Press who has generously offered to donate 200 copies of the Cthulhu anthologies to hand out to students at my youth writing workshops that take place in schools and libraries! You are awesome, Russell!

One additional note:

If you added the Plastic Girl eBook bundle. You will receive the prequel, Book 1, and Book 2 today. The third and final book, Eradication, will come in May. I decided to send you the full book instead of just the preview which means I need just a little more time. The novel needs to go to the proofreader and book designer first.
